Q-Switched (Nd:YAG) Laser

Tattoo Removal. Similar to the principles of permanent hair removal, the removal of tattoos is based on heat generation by light absorption, but this time it is the pigment in the tattoo that absorbs the ligtht. Unfortunately it is much easier to get a tattoo than it it is to remove it, and depending on the colour of the tattoo, many treatments may be necessary to acquire a good result. .

The Q-Swithed Nd:YAG Laser models carried by Irradia are specifically designed to remove tattoos of several different colours (black, blue, red, and brown), something that traditional Q-Switched lasers are not able to do. By adding a specially designed adapter, the NdYAG laser, which produces light with a wavelgth of 1064 nm, is con-verted to a KTP laser that produces light with a wavelength of 532 nm. This allows the removal of red and brown tattoos in addition to black and blue tattoos.
